From 25 May 2026 the tourist ETA is fee-free for 40 nationalities incl. China, for 30 days; the ETA itself is still mandatory before travelSri Lanka's Department of Immigration announced that nationals of 40 listed countries (including China) may obtain the tourist ETA free-of-charge for 30 days, effective 25 May 2026. The ETA remains a mandatory pre-travel authorisation — only the fee is waived.
