Georgia Georgia — entry & visa requirements

e-Visa available; visa-free 30 days for PRC citizens
Max stay: 20 to 90 days depending on passport
Short answer

Most visitors need a Georgian e-Visa, applied for online before travel; PRC citizens, including Hong Kong and Macao SAR passport holders, may instead enter visa-free for 30 days for tourism. The e-Visa takes three steps — apply online, pay by card, print the approved visa — with no embassy visit. It costs 20 USD plus a 2% service fee. Permitted stay depends on your passport, from 20 to 90 days.

General information

Georgia's short-stay entry runs through an official e-Visa portal and consular services, but the archived general-information page is mostly navigation. It points to the consular portal for visa procedures and tariffs, and to geoconsul.gov.ge for visa categories other than the short-stay e-Visa. Detail here is thin.

  • Other Georgian visa categories are handled outside the e-Visa portal, at geoconsul.gov.ge.[3]
  • The consular portal covers visa procedures, consular services, tariffs and fee waivers.[5]
Not included in this section: Left out MFA site navigation, ministerial structure, an embassy street address, condolence and press text, and generic travel-advice links.

Duration of stay

Where visa-free entry applies it is capped at 30 days and limited to tourism; otherwise your permitted stay follows the e-Visa your passport qualifies for. A visa's validity period is not the same as its duration of stay, so read both.

  • PRC citizens, including Hong Kong and Macao SAR passport holders, may stay visa-free for 30 days for tourism only under a 2023 ordinance.[3]
  • A 180/90 multiple-entry e-Visa allows repeated entries, but total stay must not exceed 90 days in any 180-day period.[2]
  • A 120/30 multiple-entry e-Visa lets you enter during its validity period and stay up to 30 days in total.[2]
  • Validity period fixes the first and last dates the visa may be used; duration of stay fixes how long you may remain.[2]
  • Foreign-registered vehicles may stay in Georgia without customs clearance for 60 days only.[3]
Not included in this section: Left out the travel calculator link and duplicated passport-validity wording.
