Fees & processing

Visa feeUS$25 — e-Visa

From official-portal extracts (captured ):

  • The e-Visa fee is USD 25.
  • The Government of India does not authorise any agent or intermediary to charge fees for emergency or express visas, eVisas or the eArrival card, so any such charge is not official. [1] [2]

How to apply

  1. Apply for the e-Visa yourself on the official Government of India portal at indianvisaonline.gov.in; no agent or intermediary is authorised to charge fees for eVisas. [1] [2]
  2. Complete the online application and pay the USD 25 e-Visa fee. [1]
  3. Complete and submit the eArrival Card online within 72 hours before arrival, at boi.gov.in, indianvisaonline.gov.in or through the official 'Indian Visa Su-Swagatam' mobile app. [1] [5]
  4. Fill in the Self-Declaration Form at airsuvidha.civilaviation.gov.in before reaching the arrival immigration counters. [1]
  5. Present your passport, the ETA and your travel documents to immigration on arrival.

Before you fly

  • Foreign nationals must complete an eArrival Card, which can be submitted online within 72 hours before arrival; it is arrival information, not a visa. [1] [5]
  • All passengers must also fill in the Self-Declaration Form before reaching the arrival immigration counters. [1]
  • Entry requires a valid national passport together with a regular visa, eVisa or OCI/eOCI card, unless you are exempt under a bilateral arrangement. [1] [2]

Watch out for

No agent or intermediary is authorised to charge for emergency or express visas, eVisas or the eArrival card, so treat any such offer as unofficial. [1] [2]
Visa on arrival at selected airports is available only to nationals of Japan, South Korea and certain UAE nationals, so an Austrian passport holder should obtain an e-Visa before travel. [2]
